Maurice
Ross
Maurice Ross is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is the
fifth born of six siblings (all boys). Maurice was raised
in the church and was very active in the music ministry, both
in the youth church choir and a gospel singing group comprised
of his brothers. This was done without a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ. But, in 1981, while attending a bible study,
Maurice, for the first time, heard the clear message of salvation.
On that cold January night, Maurice experienced the warmth
of God's saving grace by asking the Lord to come into his
life.
It was in that same bible study where Maurice found the love
of his life, his wife Deborah. They began seeing each other
and after a short time, they recognized God's compassion for
souls in each other as well. This was the seed that began
their ministering together after they were married.
Maurice
and Deborah realized God's calling on their lives in the area
of evangelism and they began to seek God's vision for their
part in His kingdom work. One element of that vision was to
raise a godly seed in the children. It was in their daily
family devotions where Maurice began to teach his children
the laws and precepts of our Lord. While developing lesson
plans and teaching them to his children, Maurice heard God's
calling on his life to preach. Finally, Maurice became a licensed
minister of the gospel.
Shortly
there after, Maurice partnered with his wife, Deborah, in
heading up JohnRoss Ministry Inc, an evangelistic, outdoor
outreach to the city of Milwaukee as well as cities across
the country. It is through this ministry where Maurice and
Deborah, along with family and volunteer missionaries, have
seen, literally, thousands come to the Lord over the past
few years.
Maurice's
heart is to see lives completely changed by the saving power
of the gospel.
For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast
of, for I am under compulsion; for woe is me if I do
not preach the gospel.
I Corinthians 9:16
